Add-ons Overview
Compare SettleWise add-ons, dependencies, access, and the first workflow to test
Add-ons are optional workspaces that extend the SettleWise base plan. Activate only the operational layers your team needs; each add-on has its own access rules and can be combined with the others.
Compare Add-ons
| Add-on | Primary outcome | Best first test | Dependencies |
|---|---|---|---|
| AI Assistant | Ask operational questions and prepare supported actions in natural language | Find a known invoice, then request a report preview | Base data and user permissions; add-on-specific questions require that add-on |
| Accounting | Connect accounts, budgets, actuals, and Income Statement views | Map one register and inspect a validated payment | Clean register and account assignments |
| Payouts | Manage vendors, bills, outgoing payments, OCR, and review periods | Create one payout and move it through its statuses | A register for completed payouts; Accounting is optional |
| Inventory | Control consumables and durable equipment across locations and movements | Create one inventory, one consumable, and one durable item | Inventory configuration and user access; Payouts is optional for purchasing intake |
How the Add-ons Work Together
| Combination | What it enables |
|---|---|
| Payouts + Accounting | Completed payouts feed expense accounts, account activity, budget actuals, and the Income Statement |
| Payouts + Inventory | Purchased physical items can be received from payout or vendor-bill lines into a selected inventory |
| Inventory + AI Assistant | Users with access can ask about stock, item details, low-stock conditions, and active alerts |
| Accounting + AI Assistant | Users can investigate supported account, budget, payout, payment, and reporting questions conversationally |
Add-ons remain distinct. For example, activating Accounting does not automatically activate Payouts, and activating AI Assistant does not grant access to Inventory data.
Activation and Access
- An owner or administrator manages activation and subscription from Add-ons or Settings → Billing.
- Current paid add-ons include a 7-day trial and are billed monthly after the trial unless canceled.
- A user's role still controls which workspace and actions are visible after activation.
- Deactivating an add-on removes workspace access but does not delete its operational records.
- If an add-on is active but a user cannot open it, check both organization activation and the user's role.
Prices and checkout availability are shown in the product at activation time. Use the Add-ons screen as the current billing source of truth.
Evaluation Checklist
During a trial:
- Assign a named owner for the evaluation.
- Test a small, real workflow from beginning to end.
- Confirm roles and approvals with at least two user types.
- Verify the downstream result, such as account activity, inventory timeline, or created record.
- Record the recurring routine the team will adopt.
- Review billing before the trial ends.
